Katherine Dickie
Grade 5 Homeroom Teacher
I grew up in Clare, Nova Scotia, where I spent my childhood exploring the beautiful outdoors and enjoying nature. Those experiences taught me how important it is for children to connect with the environment and learn through a variety of adventures. After earning my Bachelor of Education, I followed my passion for teaching and travel, spending ten wonderful years in Sweden, Thailand, and Guatemala. These amazing experiences have helped me bring a global perspective into the classroom. I’m thrilled to be back in Nova Scotia, living in the Annapolis Valley with my family and working at The Booker School.
As an educator, my top priority is to help children become independent and confident individuals. I’m dedicated to encouraging their growth through hands-on exploration and inquiry-based learning, and I can’t wait to share this journey with them!
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior Divisions from Queen’s University, and a Master of Education in International Teaching from Framingham State University.
